This workshop is for you if….
Â
🌀 You think deeply about serving others & healing the world beginning with yourself & your community.
🌀 You know there’s a better way to share experiences & gather around ideas than what’s presented in the mainstream narrative.
🌀 You are drawn to story as a mode of understanding yourself better, connecting with others more deeply, and channeling knowledge more authentically.
🌀 You want to bring more transformative story, dialogue, and conversation into the work that you do & the spaces you facilitate for others.Â
Sneak Peak...Â
at the types of stories we will be replacing & the types of stories you’ll be telling in (and after) this workshop…
Â
Replace this story…
➡️
Â
Â
🔖 Stories about your accomplishments, “wins”, and income…  |
🔖 Stories about your secret formula or “fail-proof” proprietary method…  |
🔖 Stories about your “dream life” and all the flashy things you do with your wealth & success… |
Â
With this story…
➡️
Â
Â
🌀 Stories that demonstrate your core values & theoretical frameworks |
🌀 Stories that encapsulate a lesson you learned through your lived experiences & the unique wisdom you gleaned from it as you processed this experience & synthesized it with your other knowledge and unique perspectives…  |
🌀 Stories about your vision for radical paradigm-shifting change & collective well-being through the work you do within your communities & that you hope they pass on to theirs… |
 |
So that your aligned audience…
đź’›
Â
🌾 Recognizes that you care about the things they care deeply about & see your work as aligned with theirs. |
🌾 Experiences the learning, processing, and synthesizing vicariously through your story, both receiving the unique insight from the story & growing their trust in you as a teacher.  🌾 Joins in radically aligned reimagining of our collective futures in a way that shifts our belief systems towards taking necessary sustained action to realize those visions. |

When you register for this workshop, you’ll receive a digital workbook that we’ll be working through together in the workshop.Â
Â
It includes prompts & frameworks for the 5 Better Stories and other guiding questions that you will reflect on during and after our time together.Â
Â
You’ll also receive a recording of the workshop and access to a community portal where you can stay connected with fellow attendees & ask questions even after the workshop.Â
At the end of the workshop, there will be time for open Q&A. Before that, I’ll spend about 5 minutes sharing with you about my next workshop: The Do Your Story Work 3-Day Intensive which will be held on November 16th, 17th, and 24th. The Do Your Story Work Intensive will continue the work that we begin in this free Tell Better Stories Workshop.Â
Â
Whether you choose to join any further program with us or not, this free workshop will be radically helpful and you’ll walk away with new frameworks and stories that can serve you and your community right away.Â
Dr. Joey Liu
Educator, Storyteller, Coach, Healer & Activist
I think a lot about how we can become the people we need to be to shift paradigms & sustain a healthy world. My work intersects with decolonizing, healing, storytelling, cultivating communities of belonging, stewarding our planet, protecting what’s good for all living systems, and disempowering what isn’t.Â
I've been an educator-activist for 18 years. In different chapters, I've been a spoken word coach, created university-approved coursework on Oral Expressions, helped teams of teachers explore their internal biases and transform department culture to be more equitable & inclusive, and built programs from the ground up to close gaps in the educational system.
Along the way, I've learned a lot about the balance it takes to address systemic issues on one hand & on the other hand to hold safe space for people to do their inner work of self discovery & growth. Both are needed to sustain radical change.Â
I've been doing my inner work too. From becoming a certified Kundalini yoga teacher to spending years learning from Indigenous teachers & communities about healthier ways of being, my journey has led me through self-healing, inquiry, and expression.Â
In this chapter, I'm crystallizing all my strands of work, learning, and being into a framework I call sacred story work. I teach sacred story work now to paradigm-shifting leaders, guiding them to deepen their self-healing, self-inquiry, and self-expression.
My mission is to support a community of thriving voices from the global majority who will reverberate the necessary knowledge, imagination, and ideas for the liberation of our best collective futures.Â
